I realize that I have not updated my blog lately but honestly as priorities go in my life right now, my blog and Facebook and pretty low on my list. But... here are a few of the fun things that we have done this summer and fall.
1. My neice Reagan and my mom came down to California and stayed for a week where we went to San Diego. It was freezing cold at La Jolla Beach so we didn't get to stay long there, but it was perfect for the San Diego Zoo the next day. We also had a great time watching fireworks for the 4th of July on the lake near our home and had several pool parties with friends. We are so happy to have Reagan with us!
2. As you saw in my last post, we finally moved into our new home. We have spent the better part of our time lately painting and getting everything put away, yard done, etc. Last weekend we were finally able to park both cars in our garage. This was a very big moment for Joe and I. I feel like we are offically "moved in" now!
3. Jenna and Ryan went to Utah for 2 weeks and were able to go the my dad's family reunion in Logan, Utah. His sister, Linda, who lives in Calgary, Alberta, Canada hosted the event and a lot of my cousins were able to attend. I was so glad that Jenna and Ryan were able to go, but sad that I didn't get to :(
4. Jenna started school on August 2 at Riverside Prep. Elementary. This was a big change and a very hard decision to make, but she is absolutely loving her new school. She has attended a school that we love since we moved to Victorville but after looking at the middle schools and High schools that she would have to attend, we decided to make the change to a k-12 charter school. The huge bonus of this school is that 50% of the students and staff are LDS. Ryan is on the waiting list and we hope to have him changed over before the end of the school year. He is still at Endeavor in first grade and we are enjoying it while it lasts! I just wish the kids could stay there forever. Joseph and Jacob continue to go to Lomitas which is also a elementary charter school and love it there as well.
5. Joe started a new job working for a friend of his. He is a Business Development Manager for solar company. Is is really enjoying the job and being at home more often with the family.
6. My parents came to visit in October and we ended up taking a spontaneous trip to the Sierra Nevada Mountains to Sequoua National Forest(see picture at top of post). It was a very long drive for 2 days, but we had a blast! We saw the most magnificent trees, beautiful rivers, hiked, got car sick (me and my mom)and the hightlight for the kids...we went to a BBQ and Bar and they got to listen to someone play the guitar while we ate. I can't wait until our next trip!
7. Halloween was great this year. We had a great ward party and then spent Halloween evening at some friends from the ward house and let the kids hand out candy.
And I think that catches us up!
